Shell Donates to Charity for At-Risk Children

Shell Deer Park recently presented $26,000 to the La Porte Boys and Girls Harbor. Shell employees raised $13,000 for the Harbor during the 10th annual Olefins and Heavy Olefins Golf Tournament, held in October 2005. Shell Deer Park matched the $13,000 donation.
Mary Mujica, general manager of Shell Deer Park Chemical Plant and Harbor board member, says the Olefins Golf Tournament has raised more than $75,000 for the Boys and Girls Harbor over the past 10 years. “We are proud to support the Harbor in its efforts to complete the expansion and improvement projects planned for 2006.” she says.
Shell’s Toby Mendoza, Eva Mendoza and Eric Imhoff have organized the tournament since 2002, during which time approximately $50,000 was raised. The La Porte Boys and Girls Harbor is a nonprofit organization that serves abused, neglected and at-risk children. The long-term residential facility houses about 70 children.
